🧠How airplanes fly
Airplanes rely on a few key forces:
- Lift – created by airflow over the wings
- Thrust – produced by engines pushing the plane forward
- Drag – air resistance slowing it down
- Weight – gravity pulling it downward
The shape of the wings (called an airfoil) helps generate lift as air moves faster over the top than underneath.
🛫 Main parts
- Wings – provide lift
- Fuselage – main body carrying passengers/cargo
- Engines – create thrust (jet or propeller)
- Tail (empennage) – stabilizes and controls direction
